Our story

Why we built RentalForce

Between us, we have more than 40 years of experience as landlords. We know what it's like to have property information scattered across emails, WhatsApp threads, spreadsheets and paper files. We know how easy it is to miss a certificate renewal, and how long it takes to pull a year's figures together at tax time.

A few years ago, we couldn't find a tool that suited the way we manage our own portfolios, so we built one. We've used it every day since.

Now that Making Tax Digital is arriving for landlords, we've opened RentalForce up so other landlords can benefit from it too.

Who we are

Sean

Co-founder

Sean is a CIMA-qualified accountant with over 25 years in banking and finance. He manages his own portfolio and, through his property management agency, looks after properties for other landlords, including small refurbishment projects.

He is a member of the National Residential Landlords Association (NRLA) and an accredited member of the London Landlord Accreditation Scheme (LLAS).

That gives him first-hand experience of portfolio management, maintenance, refurbishment and property tax, and it shapes every part of RentalForce.

Craig

Co-founder

Craig is a business professional and technologist who spent many years in banking and finance as a financial technology specialist. He was a founding member of a software company that built stock control and front-of-house systems for restaurants. The company was later acquired by a large US-based provider of restaurant till systems.

He also has many years of experience managing property, including HMOs. Craig builds RentalForce.

Making Tax Digital

Your digital records, kept as you go.

RentalForce keeps your digital records and sorts your income and expenses into HMRC's property tax categories as you go. You can export your figures for any period as an Excel or CSV file, ready to import into bridging software for your quarterly updates, with no retyping.

Coming 2027  Send updates to HMRC from RentalForce

We're building a direct connection to HMRC and working towards HMRC recognition. When it's live, you'll be able to send your updates straight from RentalForce.
